The Green Bay Packers built a 21-0 lead, then held on for a 21-16 win over Minnesota Sunday.

Green Bay running back Aaron Jones celebrates his first half touchdown run during the Packers' 21-16 win over Minnesota Sunday. But anyone that understands the rivalry between Green Bay and Minnesota knows one-sided affairs are few and far between.

With Minnesota driving for the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter, Cousins inexplicably threw to a covered Stefon Diggs in the right corner of the endzone and Green Bay’s Kevin King intercepted. Linebacker Preston Smith had a first half interception after rookie safety Darnell Savage tipped a pass by Cousins.

Widow Cherry Starr and son Bart Starr Jr., along with several of Starr's former teammates, were in attendance. Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre was also on hand, and before the game, Favre walked out of the Packers’ tunnel with Cherry Starr and Bart Jr., much to the crowd’s delight. “Bart Starr was a winner and a gentleman, period,” former Bears tight end and later head coach Mike Ditka said. “It was Lombardi’s team, but Bart Starr was the quiet glue that held the whole thing together. He was a great leader.”Green Bay didn't have any turnovers in Week 1 against Chicago. But the Packers had two against the Vikings.
