Handbags for Hope an event hosted by The Durham Children’s Aid Foundation , is auctioning off handbags to raise money for youth services.“The money will be used for behavioral supports therapy, family and individual counselling, positive transition for youth programs and having a mentor for youth equipped with life skills,” DCAF’s Special Events Coordinator Amanda Nagy said. “We also have a partnership with Carea to provide quick access for children and youth mental health and wellness programs.
“We’re working with Local boutiques in Port Perry, Bowmanville and Whitby and they have all donated some of their top handbags to be auctioned off,” Nagy added. Tickets to the event include wine, hors d’oeuvres, access to local jewelry and craft vendors, and delicious desserts. Along with $50 in bid money.
