Bernie Sanders could easily win the nomination—unless somebody stops him. So why aren’t his opponents trying?

on Friday about estimates that his entire agenda would cost $60 trillion over 10 years, Sanders bristled: “You don't know. Nobody knows. This is impossible to predict.”It seems like a moment for the other candidates to pounce, but the attacks haven’t come. Barack Obama’s former national press secretary, Ben LaBolt,to POLITICO’s Natasha Korecki this week, “There should be a paid media strategy that would challenge” Sanders. But so far, no candidate is seizing the moment.
A stronger explanation is that Warren and Sanders sold themselves differently. Warren built her candidacy on her obsession with policy and mastery of detail. Her “I have a plan for that” mantra thrilled her college-educated throngs. Therefore,having a plan for a massive overhaul of one-sixth of the national economy was an untenable exception.
