The Stars lead the Central Division by five points after winning eight consecutive games.
With less than a couple of weeks until the playoffs, some teams are trying to prove they have the unit to make a deep run over the next couple of months. The Stars have been in a heated three-horse race at the top of the Central Division between them, the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets. With the Jets tailing off, and Dallas going on a roll, winning eight straight games, the team from Texas is pulling away from the pack.
From veterans like Matt Duchene and Joe Pavelski continuing to produce to exciting younger talent like Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz, Dallas has the firepower to play far into May.Tyler Yaremchuk: Four lines that all skate hard, can all impact the game offensively. Three D-pairings that are all effective, and, oh yeah, Jake Oettinger’s looking like a Vezina caliber goalie once again.Jamie Benn is one goal away from making it eight 20-goal scorers. The depth in Dallas is what’s scary, but also, it’s the way they play. They’re a little like Colorado in that they can play any which way you want. You want speed? Sure. You want skill? Awesome. They can also beat you up, too.
