But delays in its development meant the car wasn't ready when thewere banned after a tragic 1986 season that saw competitors and spectators killed after a series of high-speed accidents.
Powered by a 600-plus horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mounted transversely behind the driver, the 405 T16 has both all-wheel drive, and four-wheel steering. It weighs just under 2000 pounds.
