The Canadian Football League adding a Halifax team has been talked about for decades. The league seems to be on the offensive about it now: 'We want to be here. We’d like to stay permanently,' says the CFL commissioner ahead of Touchdown Atlantic.
“You have to have a home for the team,” he said. “It really is the central issue but one of the real positive changes we made was the mindset around our expectations for how we would start here.”
“Their view is Haligonians would be very willing to be part of a CFL franchise in a more humble environment to start, and who knows, maybe … five-ten years later, do something a little bigger,” he said.“We’ve set our sights on a more modest start and that makes it significantly more viable.” “I believe we can deliver on a strong ownership situation … nothing definitive but certainly enough positive conversations to warrant a real strong sense of optimism.”‘We jumped in and threw the dog off of her’: Neighbours save teen from Ontario dog attack
