The Ottawa Senators recouped significant assets under tough circumstances and the Tampa Bay Lightning celebrated as top talent migrated westward during the 2019 NHL trade deadline.

In the midst of a strong season under new coach Bill Peters, the Flames start the post-deadline run to the playoffs in first place in the Western Conference.
