A new study has ranked the top 10 best movies shot in Pennsylvania from over the past 30 years.
IMDb ratings, Rotten Tomatoes Audience Scores, and Rotten Tomatoes Critics Scores of the 30 highest-ranked movies shot in the Keystone State in order to deduce which reigned supreme. Box office and Oscars recognition were also taken into consideration.
The resulting study listed the following films in the top five rankings, in ascending order: “Silver Linings Playbook” ; “The Dark Knight Rises” ; “The Sixth Sense” ; “The Avengers” ; and “Silence of the Lambs” . Both “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Silence of the Lambs” were filmed in Pittsburgh while “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Sixth Sense” were shot in Philadelphia. Filming for “The Avengers” took place in Butler.
