I was a late adopter of dad shoes. For years, I rejected comfort in favor of the leg-lengthening effects of a heel. Now I have to apologize for my hideously disfigured feet when I get pedicures — so flats are just about it for me. Still, I’ve always shied away from dad shoes. The bulky soles invalidated the years of suffering I endured in the name of “flattery.”
