Menstrual products are tax-free in 24 states. Texas isn't one of them. Efforts to repeal the 'tampon tax' have failed before and removing the tax will be tough to do during 2023’s legislative session. But two key players are now voicing their support.

The sales tax revenue on menstrual supplies over the next two years would represent about 0.1% of that amount. In Texas and across the country, institutions are working to improve greater access to menstrual products.
