Texas judge issues stay on FDA's approval of abortion drug mifepristone, jeopardizing nationwide availability
A federal judge sided with conservative, anti-abortion activists on Friday and issued an unprecedented ruling that seeks to block the distribution of a key abortion drug, mifepristone., who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, imposed a stay on the Food & Drug Administration's approval of the drug, arguing that it was unlawful.
An attorney for Danco Laboratories, which manufactures Mifeprex, also filed an appeal on Kacsmaryk's decision on Friday evening. Vice President Kamala Harris also responded to Kacsmaryk's decision and said it was a threat to Americans' freedom. The litigation has sparked concern and outrage from reproductive rights activists.
