Texas A&M was forced to cancel football practice Wednesday after a bomb threat to Kyle Field and the Aggies football complex.
“University Police is utilizing its explosive detection K-9s to sweep both facilities,” Texas A&M explained in a
. “All activities within Kyle Field and the Bright Football Complex are postponed until further notice. All other campus activities can continue as normal.”According to the Bryan-College Station Eagle, the Aggies were scheduled to practice at 3:30 pm. Head coach Jimbo Fisher arrived at the complex shortly after the evacuation at 2:25 pm Eastern.
UPD sergeant Josh Deleon said the threat was anonymous. The College Station Bomb Unit, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the FBI, and three police K-9s joined UPD in investigative efforts. Football players and staff waited outside the complex for approximately an hour before practice was canceled and players went a bye week early.
