Texans suffer more power outages than residents of any other state

For CPS Energy, 2021 was somewhat of an outlier year. When utilities are assessing reliability, they strip out major weather events to better show how the utility’s reliability during normal day-to-day operations. Even after discounting major weather events such as Winter Storm Uri, CPS customers still experienced 19 percent more time without electricity last year.
