The Texans have signed veteran free-agent linebacker Cory Littleton. The franchise officially announced Littleton’s acquisition Tuesday, along with former Bills running back Devin Singletary and former Dolphins center Michael Deiter.
Littleton, 29, joins the Texans after spending one season as a rotational linebacker with the Panthers. He played in 15 games, started in seven and totaled 47 tackles, a tackle for loss and half a sack. Littleton first spent four seasons with the Rams, where he was named a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro in 2018 on a team that reached Super Bowl LIII.
The Texans needed to upgrade their defensive front after surrendering the most rushing yards in team history last season. Newly hired coach DeMeco Ryans, who spent the past two seasons as 49ers defensive coordinator, is expected to further develop Christian Harris, Houston’s third-round pick in 2022. Littleton joins a group of veterans that includes Christian Kirksey, who started in every game last season.
