'If you still think it's about disrespecting the flag or our military, you clearly haven't been listening,' Houston Texans superstar J.J. Watt told a fan on Twitter.
This isn't the first time Watt has spoken up about the ongoing protests over police brutality. On May 27, a Houston TV station released a video of Watt calling George Floyd's death "disgusting" and saying,"I don't understand how that situation can't be remedied in a way that doesn't end in his death."
He also released an Instagram post on June 1 saying,"Racism is a problem and silence won't solve it." In 2016, when then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem, Watt was one of several Texans players to hold a giant flag during the anthem before a game against the Chicago Bears.then."Everybody can form their own opinion on how they want to do it."
