Respondents who had used e-scooter programs in other cities were reportedly “excited” to have a similar option in Saskatoon. Riders will have to be at least 16 years old and will be required to wear a helmet. Companies will be required to provide discounts or other incentives to riders who submit a photo of themselves wearing a helmet. E-scooter providers will also have to provide video and in-person training to new riders.Article content
The scooters will be capped at a maximum speed of 24 km/h, with people’s first rides restricted to 15 km/h. Scooters will also top out at 15 km/h when used along the Meewasin Trail.
