Terry Fox\u0027s courage and determination a reflection of his Métis heritage says brother.
Darrell Fox, 59, Terry’s younger brother, said he believes the feather was the way his late mother stayed connected to her Métis heritage.
“It’s an amazing story and one that is not uncommon for most Métis people. Many of us grew up in Métis families but weren’t aware,” said Daniel Fontaine, CEO of Métis Nation British Columbia. Tuesday, Métis Nation British Columbia and the Terry Fox Foundation announced the release of a traditional Métis sash honouring Fox. The Foundation is the main agency for managing the millions that Fox’s name still raises for cancer research.
