TerraceBC athletes in tough at North American Indigenous Games
Braunson Slack and Marcus Smith, both students at Skeena Middle School, are on the squad which beat Minnesota 45 to 26 on July 18 and Alberta 60 to 48 on July 19.Other Terrace and area residents are also at the North American Indigenous Games, including Dakota Price on the U19 B.C. female basketball team. It lost to Manitoba 62 to 48 on July 17 but rebounded to defeat the Northwest Territories 64 to 12 on July 18 in preliminary Pool C play for that age bracket.
Victoria Stanley is on the U14 B.C. female basketball team which was to play Washington State July 17 only to have that opponent default.Michael Morven is on the U19 male basketball team claiming a two and one record so far. It lost 81 to 71 against Minnesota July 17 but then defeated Colorado 115 to 49 on July 18 and Manitoba 72 to 65 on July 19 in preliminary Pool C play.
Rayham Davis from Greenville in the Nass Valley is on the U16 boys soccer team roster claiming a July 17, 2 to 1 win against Alberta on July 17 and a 7 to 0 win against Nova Scotia on July 18. The B.C. U16 boys softball team has two representatives from Terrace, Tristen Wallington and Gabe Ridler. It suffered a close 8 to 7 loss July 17 against Manitoba and then a 15 to 1 defeat at the hands of Saskatchewan the same day.
A 5 to 4 loss against Ontario followed on July 18 and on July 19 the team was beaten 14 to 7 by Nova Scotia.
