Even before the airing of the Doctor Who 60th-anniversary specials, David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor has the perfect final line before regenerating.
David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor already has the perfect final line for his regeneration into Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth in Doctor Who. Jodie Whittaker's regeneration at the end of "The Power of the Doctor" not only saw the return of David Tennant as the eponymous Time Lord, but also the reinstatement of Russell T Davies as showrunner, who has been absent from the show since "The End of Time Part Two" in 2010.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY David Tennant's new Fourteenth Doctor is totally separate incarnation from the Tenth, despite having the same actor. Thus, this brand-new version of the Time Lord requires an all-new final line before regenerating into the Fifteenth Doctor, other than the Tenth Doctor's iconic "I don't want to go" line.
This would fit perfectly with Tennant's descriptions of the Fourteenth Doctor. He has stated that while his new incarnation of the Time Lord may seem immediately familiar, the Fourteenth Doctor will be different from the Tenth. This new version of the Doctor will have "echoes of the past", according to David Tennant in an interview with BBC News, rather than being the exact same character.
Tennant's Doctor Who Return Can Fix Ten's Sad Ending David Tennant's first exit from Doctor Who, as the Tenth Doctor, was one of the saddest in the history of the show. Despite the Time Lord having the opportunity to say goodbye to each of his companions, he regenerated feeling unfulfilled.
With Catherine Tate's Donna Noble returning alongside Tennant, Doctor Who could finally solve the problem of the "DoctorDonna" that emerged in "Journey's End." Donna Noble being freed from the shackles of forced amnesia in Doctor Who's 60th-anniversary specials could provide the necessary closure for David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor finally feeling that he is able to go, finally negating the Tenth Doctor's tragic final moments.
