The branch, to be named 'Temporary Cameron Community Centre and Library,' will be inside the City of Lougheed mall.
In a release, Burnaby city staff have set April 29 as the date when local residents will first be able to utilize the Cameron branch's services and social spaces.
The city says setting the date for temporary library marks "an important step" towards building the new Cameron Community Centre and Library, which has a tenative completion year of 2026. It's $252-million replacement is set to include a new library, pool, gym with two full-sized basketball courts, weight room with cardio facilities, an indoor running track, fitness studios, dedicated youth and seniors’ spaces, child-minding and play areas and a civic plaza.
