“The whole mantra for our defense is negative plays,” Drayton said. “Any time we get a combination of those, we’re celebrating those for sure.”Temple’s performances against South Florida and Houston were fool’s gold. Those defenses rank 11th and ninth, respectively, in total defense in the AAC. After averaging 45 points and 415 passing yards in those games, the Owls were held to 202 total yards against the Bearcats.
