Temperatures to soar to 28 degrees in Glasgow as heatwave warning in place.
It comes amid an amber weather warning for large parts of the UK, with the Strathclyde region affected, including South Lanarkshire.
The UK's first red extreme heat warning has also been issued by the Met Office across a large part of England from London to Manchester and York on Monday and Tuesday.While Glasgow has avoided the warning, it will still be exceptionally hot today, with the Met Office forecast predicting a day of wall-to-wall sunshine and very warm temperatures.People living in the Greater Glasgow area have been urged to take precautions in the heat.
The warning reads: "A hot spell is likely to develop from Sunday, likely peaking early next week, leading to widespread impacts on people and infrastructure."
