The number of people choosing to drop a criminal case is risingThe number of criminal cases being dropped despite a suspect having been identified is on the rise, Home Office data shows. In the year to September 2021, the figure was 20.9%, up from 20.7% in 2020, 18.2% in 2019, and 6.9% in the year to March 2015.
