Even though the video clearly depicts racist acts, Montreal police say it's not an incitement to hatred.

After the video was posted, the girls’ parents said it was from two years ago, but teens who claim to know the girls personally have disagreed. Students have also said the video was made to mock a particular Black classmate, and instead of posting it publicly, the girls sent it to a second Black classmate.
The SPVM was unable to confirm whether or not more incidents of this nature have been reported since the start of the Black Lives Matter events in Montreal, which aim to call out police brutality and systemic discrimination.
