A teenager died Thursday after he fell from the 'Free Fall' amusement park ride in Orlando, Florida.
The incident occurred at Orlando's ICON Park at around 11 p.m., police said.
The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared dead, according to a report. The 430-foot"Free Fall" ride had previously been marketed by the park as"the world’s tallest free-standing drop tower," according to a 2021 press release. This is absolutely tragic. A 14-year-old boy plummeted to his death on the Orlando Free Fall ride last night, deputies say. It's billed as the tallest ride of its kind in the world, standing at 430 feet. The big question this morning is HOW did this happen? @WFTV pic.twitter.com/cz8EqDp1SeThe ride operates by raising a maximum of 30 people into the air and then rotating and spinning them, the report noted.
