A flurry of holiday markets are descending on the city this week, including the return of the Christmas Edition of the Toronto Toy & Nostalgia Show.
A flurry of holiday markets are descending on the city this week, including the return of the Christmas Edition of the– the first since 2019 – taking place on Dec. 4 at Montecassino Hotel and Event Centre in North York.
Though he won’t be bringing any FLIP wares to the market , there will be close to 120 vendors at the show, including GP Comics and Roy’s Paper Heroes. “There’s everyone from the independent – selling at home from eBay and Etsy – to mainstream stores from across Ontario and beyond,” he says, adding that he’s had vendors come in from Buffalo and Montreal.
The show is all about making spirits bright, Francia says: “We do a food drive to help the North York food banks. We give away ‘Toy Show Dollars’ at random, that people can spend with the vendors.” And, he notes, Santa Claus will be on site to take photos with kids. “The Toy Show is really fun just for people to walk around,” Panet says. “Even if they’re not a collector or looking for something in particular.”
