The RNC says yesterday’s attack outside the main entrance of Prince of Wales Collegiate was a targeted attack against one student involving a number of young people armed with weapons.
A 16-year-old suffered head injuries as the result of the attack in the area of Paton Street. His family reports that he is conscious and stable. RNC Constable James Cadigan says one teenage boy is in custody and they’re looking for more information. Cadigan says parents are receiving accounts from their children who are afraid of the people believed to be responsible for the attack. He says it is vital that investigators have as much current information as possible and he encourages those afraid of getting involved to contact Crime Stoppers to provide information anonymously.
Police are seeking possible surveillance images or video from a wide area. That includes Paton Street, Elizabeth Avenue from Westerland Road to Freshwater Road, Anderson Avenue. Stabb Court, Keegan Court, Cowperthwaite Court, and Mitchell Court.
