David Doyle, 58, of Starks, La., opened fire on a group of juveniles who had been hiding on his property during a game of hide-and-seek, authorities say.
In Louisiana, the sheriff’s office says several juveniles were playing hide-and-seek in a neighborhood during the early-morning hours of May 7. Doyle tells investigators that he saw shadows outside his home and that he grabbed his firearm.
Doyle says he went outside and saw people running away from his property, so he began firing at them, “unknowingly” wounding the girl. Doyle is charged with with aggravated battery, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal discharge of a firearm.
