Police are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy who was shot to death at his home on Monday.
ELYRIA, Ohio –
Officers found the boy unresponsive about 5 a.m. The shooting took place at the boy’s home in the 400 block of 3rd Street, near Chestnut Street. Detectives from the Elyria Police Department and the office of the Lorain County Coroner responded. The Chronicle-Telegram of Elyria reported that the youth was a freshman at Elyria High School.
A spokesman for the city said no other details about the shooting are available. On Facebook, Elyria Mayor Frank Whitfield said: “This morning, a young man’s life was tragically stolen here in our community. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
