Team Canada, led by a number of athletes from this province, took home the silver medal at the Softball World Cup in New Zealand.Out of the entire squad, six players and two coaches were from Newfoundland and Labrador.
The top performers at the plate were Ryan Boland of St. John’s and Colin Walsh of Petty Harbour. Boland had two hits, one run, and one RBI while Walsh had two hits and drove in the second run of the game.
