The bank said it’s establishing the hub — which within a year should employ about 100 financial planning associates who will support more senior planners — at its TD Calgary Place location at 5th Avenue and 3rd Street S.W.
“We think there’s huge opportunities for diversifying in Calgary … it’s more efficient, gives us business continuity.” The facility will occupy the second floor of the company’s downtown location that’s undergoing renovations in a core relentlessly plagued by high volumes of empty office space. In recent months, Alberta and Calgary’s economies have been buoyed by a series of announcements centring largely around the tech industry, some of which have filled portions of that vacant office space.
