More than 2,500 people walked the line on day 10 of the Public Service Alliance of Canada strike

When Marc Brière, national president of the Union of Taxation Employees , arrived at the picket line in Sudbury the morning of April 28, a roar went up from the crowd.

While he confirmed that does not mean the Canadian Revenue Agency and UTE were negotiating again, he said. “It’s leading to us going back to the table. That's very good news.” “They can't negotiate without the deal coming from the Treasury Board, and that's what I am denouncing,” he said. “I'm exasperated, I'm tired of that and we’re going to try to change the legislation after this strike.”

He continued to try to break through the line, inching his vehicle closer to the eight people standing in a row. They called police to the vehicle, and two plain clothes officers approached, identified themselves and ask the driver to leave. He turned his vehicle around with some difficulty, and left the road. All other vehicles who tried to enter while Sudbury.com was present were asked their destination, and then allowed to pass, all in under 10 seconds.
