The Taliban says it wants women to join cabinet—just not yet

to CNN on Saturday that girls were being kept from school, following the government’s announcement of a return to classes for the 6th through 12th grade that applied only to boys and male teachers. He said the government was setting up a way for girls to get to school that was segregated from boys. Their classes—like the classes of all girls and women, from primary school to universities—will also be segregated.

Girls and women were not allowed to study or work outside the home in the first government led by the Taliban, which ruled from 1996 until 2001, when U.S. led attacks toppled the regime.that they respect the rights of girls and women— calling it “the responsibility” of the U.N. and other countries “to have diplomatic relations with us,” Reuters reported.
