Taiwan’s President urged the officials to be on the lookout for military developments concerning China following the crash

“The best way for us to honour the memory of the fallen is to ensure Taiwan’s security and maintain military morale,” Tsai wrote. The helicopter’s flight data recorder was recovered on Friday morning and, if it was not damaged, an analysis should be completed within 24 hours. China threatens to use military force if necessary to annex what it considers part of its territory. A vacuum within Taiwan’s military leadership could embolden it to step up its military intimidation.
