SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton High School Soccer League began its 2022 season on Monday with two games on the schedule. In Sydney, the Sydney Academy Wildcats blanked the Glace Bay Panthers 5-0 in girls' play at the Ness Timmons Field. Sadie Parnaby and Karley Lawless both scored twice, while Breah Dolan chipped in with a single marker for the Wildcats.In Sydney Mines, the Riverview Ravens posted a 2-0 victory over the Memorial Marauders in girls' action at Memorial High School Field.Kaitlyn DePodestra had the shutout for Riverview.
League play will continue this week and run until the end of October, prior to the School Sport Nova Scotia provincial championship tournaments.
