World number one Iga Swiatek beats Caroline Garcia 6-3, 6-2 to clinch a semi-final spot at the WTA Finals
Swiatek, the reigning US and French Open champion who put together a 37-match win streak earlier this year, is aiming to finish out 2022 on a high note.
France's Garcia can still advance with a victory on Saturday against Daria Kasatkina, who eliminated Coco Gauff from semi-final contention with a 7-6 , 6-3 victory over the error-strewn fourth-ranked American.

Dallas Police release video from Metropolitan Avenue shooting - KRLD NewsDallas Police have released body camera video of an officer-involved shooting Sunday evening near Fair Park. Police were called to reports of a fight on Metropolitan Avenue near Highway 352. Chief Eddie Garcia says officers arrived and recognized the suspect, Donathy Doddy. He says they had previous encounters with him. 'Officers gave the suspect loud, verbal commands to get his hands off the gun,' Garcia says. 'Doddy then ran toward the officers, firing his weapon at least two times as he ran in the officers' direction.'
