Man accused of burning 3 gay pride flags in 2 separate incidents outside of a Harlem gay bar was arrested Tuesday night, police say.
"We are relieved and we hope that it serves as an example to anyone who might get the terrible idea to commit a hate crime," the lounge owner said.
A burned rainbow flag lays outside of Alibi Lounge in New York on July 8, 2019. The owner of the lounge says this is the second time in a month a pride flag has been burned at the entrance of the club, and the incident is being investigated as a hate crime.Alexi Minko, owner of Alibi Lounge, which is describedas the only black-owned gay lounge in New York City, expressed gratitude to the NYPD.
