Of course, there is no single way that betrayal trauma happens, looks, or affects someone, but it can be helpful to have some ideas of what to expect, should your partner experience any of these things.
Now, this definition can feel vague to many. How can we know if what our partner mentioned about their dad leaving resulted in this kind of trauma response?Well, it’s no surprise that this experience of betrayal—most notably by someone who they are reliant on emotionally, physically, or otherwise—would make it difficult for that person in future relationships.
