Comcast execs described Super Nintendo World as Universal Orlando’s “fourth gate,” with the first three being Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and the Volcano Bay water park.
It’s not Universal’s first Nintendo land, however—the theme park operator will debut its Japanese version this summer. "Nintendo, based on our research, is the biggest potential driver in attendance you can have in terms of intellectual properties,” said Comcast executives during the call. “It's up there with Harry Potter, and in some of our parks, HP drives incremental attendance of 2 million people.”Epic Universe in August 2019, and at the time promised the park would create 14,000 jobs while doubling its total theme park acreage.
