Authorities say they will have SoFi Stadium 'extensively covered' in the event of any rowdy fans at Super Bowl 56. This comes after a fan was attacked at the stadium during the NFC Championship Game less than two weeks ago.

, meaning it's an event, “with national and/or international importance that requires extensive federal interagency support.”

“We do not have any known specific, credible threats for the events," Cathy Lainer, chief security officer for the NFL, said. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said its focus is to prevent any incidents, minor or major, from happening within the stadium's perimeter. Units specializing in stopping human trafficking, acts of terrorism and counterfeit merchandise will also be on-site.

Law enforcement is also working with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to ensure fans are not overserved. “If you should see someone in the downtown area or any of these venues that are celebrating too much, getting drunk, we need to know about that. That type of behavior does not improve over time. That's something that we want security to be aware of. We will step into that,” Los Angeles police chief Michael Moore said.
