Poor air quality due to road dust is expected to persist until rain comes on Friday
Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement and dust advisory to warn Prince George residents of high concentrations of course particulate matter being kicked up into air which could cause breathing problems, especially for people with asthma, COPD, heart disease, and diabetes or respiratory infections such as COVID.
Dust levels tend to be higher near busy roads and industrial areas and the advisory is expected to remain in place until there is precipitation, dust mitigation or a change in traffic patterns.
