Summer activities will offer children a range of experiences.
For the first time, the Mobile County Public School System is offering some fantastic opportunities for students to explore new interests and career paths. June 10th until June 19th from 8 am until 1 pm, they’ll be hosting career exploration summer camps at their three career tech centers located in Citronelle at the Faulkner Career Technical Center in Prichard and the Bryant Career Tech Center in Irvington. It’s open to current sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
“We’re looking forward to hosting these summer camps for our students,” said MCPSS Career Tech Supervisor, Danielle Booth. “We are trying to focus a lot more on gauging students’ interest in their careers at the middle school level. We’ve done a few different things over the past couple of years that we’re trying to better prepare them for not only the workforce and their future but also help them select programs when they’re in high school.
The camp will feature hands-on activities across a wide array of fields. Lunch will also be provided at this free activity. For details, please contact Danielle Booth, Career Technical Education Supervisor, at Fairhope will also host various summer camps as well. Those include a STEAM camp, ART camp, Oceanic Exploration camp, chemistry camp and aerospace and structural engineering.
