Shelley Karst couldn’t believe her luck
Shelley Karst of Sudbury is $100,000 richer after matching the last six of seven Encore numbers in the Sept. 3 Lottario draw.
Karst told OLGC prize centre staff that she is a weekly lottery player and she discovered her win on a Sunday morning, when she typically checks her lottery numbers. “I scanned my ticket on the OLG App and thought I won $100, which I was happy about,” she said. “When I scanned it a second time, I realized I won $100,000 — my hands began to shake, and I felt like I was going to pass out.”
She said winning “feels like a dream.” She plans on purchasing a new bed with her windfall, putting the rest into savings and investments.
