Manitoulin OPP say they’ve laid 34 impaired driving-related charges so far in 2023
A Sudbury woman was charged with impaired driving on Manitoulin Island last week, one of 34 impaired charges that have been laid in that area since the beginning of the year.In one incident a 26-year-old Sudbury woman was charged with: -Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration .
OPP said the suspect vehicle was located and police conducted a traffic stop. It was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages and was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further tests. In the other recent incident, the Manitoulin OPP were conducting mandatory alcohol screening in the Township of Espanola on vehicles that were towing boats on June 23 shortly after 9 p.m.
