Doug Honeyford has been a member since 2002
Sudbury’s D.G. “Doug” Honeyford has been elected to the board of governors of the United Commercial Travellers .
UCT is a non-profit membership/volunteer organization with chapters across Canada and the U.S. Honeyford was elected to the board during the organization's July 2022 annual convention. Honeyford joined UCT’s Sudbury Council 1051 in 2002, the organization said in a news release. He is a past local president of the Sudbury Council and a past regional president of the organization, as well as serving several international committees over the years.
UCT described Honeyford as starting in the insurance business as a Prudential of America agent in 1969, eventually becoming associate vice president of regional marketing. A chartered life underwriter since 1974, Honeyford is a 48-year member of the CLU Institute and a 52-year member of Advocis, the financial advisor’s association of Canada. Honeyford owned and operated a multi-line insurance agency in Sudbury with his son and daughter until its sale in 2021. Honeyford retired this year.
