“I had an acute understanding of the societal pressure placed on individuals to purchase and receive diamonds as a symbol of love and status, however, I did not buy into the status quo hype,” Andrew says. “In my pursuit to find something that made more sense financially, versus what society deems as ‘socially acceptable,’ I began looking into the specifics and costs of purchasing a more affordable engagement ring.
