UPDATE: A stretch of the Malahat between Shawnigan Lake and Shawnigan-Mill Bay roads has reopened; expect delays
According to Drive B.C., a “vehicle incident” resulted in the closure of a 13.4-kilometre stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway between Shawnigan Lake and Shawnigan-Mill Bay roads.
About 9:15 a.m., Drive B.C. said the highway had reopened and warned drivers to expect delays due to congestion. OPEN - #BCHwy1 #VanIsle - is now open following an earlier vehicle incident between Shawnigan Lake Rd. and Shawnigan-Mill Bay Rd. Expect delays due to congestion.
