After an exciting venture working in the Cayman Islands, recreational real estate also beckoned in California, working with premier homebuilder Centex Homes, and then it was three years in Surrey, B.C., as executive vice-president of development for Whetstone Properties, builder of Urban West Village in the city.

Third was involved in the planning and development of two Canmore projects — Versant at Stewart Creek and Silvercreek Lodge — before rejoining CEO and founder of Stone Creek Resorts, Guy Turcotte, in March of 2021. It has been 15 years since a new real estate offering has been presented at Silvertip, but now approval has been obtained for its total of 600 acres offering a 58-lot estate subdivision, which will include 34 single-family lots ranging from $900,000 to $1.6 million. A pre-sale offering of 20 lots has already resulted in 13 sales, with an average price of $1.2 million.

Stone Creek has also subdivided a portion of Silvertip Village lands with the intent of building a five-star mountain hotel. Discussions are underway with major hotel brands to manage 90 resort accommodation units.
