“Last year, we were content with making the playoffs. This year, it’s not enough to just win one series. We want to go all the way.”

Dawson Holt has played more than 200 games with the Vancouver Giants — and the best seven in a row undoubtedly came in last year’s Western Hockey League playoffs.

“Every game in the playoffs is super important and usually for me the bigger the game the better I play, which is nice to have,” said Holt, a Saskatoon native who turned 20 last month. He’s played in 197 of a possible 284 regular-season games the past four years. He’s admitted to concussion troubles in the past. This year, a lower body injury put him on the shelf for 14 consecutive games in the second half and he finished league play with six goals and 19 points in 53 starts.

Benson moved on to the Edmonton Oilers’ AHL farm team in Stockton, Calif. for his 20-year-old campaign this season. Vancouver had just four 19 year olds in last year’s playoffs. Victoria countered with nine. Seattle lists four 1999-born players on its current roster.
