The Guild will present Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical, Into the Woods - in concert, featuring some of P.E.I.’s finest professional musical theatre artists. ContributedCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Guild in Charlottetown is presenting Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical, Into The Woods , from March 31 to April 2.
The musical will feature professional musical theatre artists from Prince Edward Island and brings together classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and the fabled witch to meet a childless baker and his wife. The show premiered in 1987 and ran on Broadway for two years, including the recent Broadway revival and the current U.S. tour.
The musical features a cast of 14 professional musical theatre talents, including Rebekah Brown as Lucinda, Caroline Burton as Rapunzel, Jessica Gallant as Cinderella, Rebecca Guilderson as the Witch and Jacob Hemphill as Milky White and Steward. Other cast members include Glenda Landry as Jack's mother, stepmother and Granny, Melissa MacKenzie as the baker's wife, Kristena McCormack as Little Red Riding Hood, Rebecca Parent as Florinda, Hugh Ritchie as Rapunzel's prince, Brandon Roy as Cinderella's prince and wolf, Brent Raddall as Jack in the Beanstalk, Christopher Wilson as the narrator and mysterious man and Braeden Woods as the baker.Performances will take place on Friday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m.
